The creative brainchild of sisters,
Anna Cerdan and Penny Crohan, Carnival Homewares was launched
in Australia in Spring 2002.
The girls have over 20 years experience in sourcing and importing
homewares gained while working in a successful family business
established by their parents. They have been travelling to
India since they were 16 and share a love of travel, exotic
locations and the casual and colourful lifestyle shared by
so many cultures.
CARNIVAL HOMEWARES signature range reflects
the zest for life that both girls have inherited!. It’s
vibrant and youthful colours will hold appeal for all age
groups. Bags and baskets, boldly beaded lamp shades, cushions
and quilts dominate with their eye catching mix of colour
!…Even outdoor entertaining has been given an overhaul
with beaded Organdie table cloths and chair covers!.
Bright bold colours stimulate and enthuse and are in keeping
with Australia’s easygoing outdoor lifestyle. Think
of bright sunny days in Sydney or Perth, or balmy evenings
in Queensland and Carnival will be ideal.
Understated elegance is introduced in neutrals and the quieter
tones featured in the smaller Ivory Club range. The perfect
complement to the sophisticated Melbourne entertaining scene
which the girls know only too well as this is where they grew
up!
Much of the range has been manufactured in India with ideas
gleaned world wide!
Anna CERDAN :
Anna’s background is in fashion and interiors and she
has been able to develop a style that blends the sophisticated
yet relaxed attitude and lifestyle of the French with the
casual and colourful climate of Australia.
Anna is married to French Chef , Bruno Cerdan whose culinary
skills have taken the family to many exotic locations, including
Mauritius, rural France and India where Anna currently lives
with Bruno and their two children, Louis and Olivia. Anna
has sourced many of the products in the current range from
India.
Penny CROHAN
Penny’s original training was in the hospitality industry
in Melbourne. The transition into homewares was a natural
one as she has combined the two fields to create an individual
sense of style and sophistication in entertaining and décor.
Years of living in South East Asia and the Middle East have
influenced her ideas and interest in lifestyle products and
cemented her desire to combine this interest with work.
Penny currently lives in Perth with her two children, William
and Isabelle and husband Leo. She has fallen in love with
the easygoing, outdoor lifestyle of Perth over the past two
years and currently runs the wholesale operation from this
city.
